IMPORTANT NEWS - Partnership Council Closure
The Partnership Council was established in 1998 to work with local people to provide a wide variety of community support. Activities have included the delivery of the European funded URBAN Project and running a variety of local forums. Our projects have ranged from the Oral History of Hyson Green, children’s play and after school clubs and helping unemployed people back to work. We have produced community publications, films and consultation documents and been involved in improving local green spaces, recycling and environmental projects. We have supported the development of voluntary sector groups and charities and assisted the bidding process to raise £3.2 million Heritage Lottery Funding to improve the Forest Recreation Ground.
Sadly, although staff have worked hard to raise funding, our income streams have declined. During the last five years we have been forced to reduce staff hours and the services we offer to the community. We have now reached the unfortunate position where we no longer have the monies to continue beyond 31st December 2016.
We would like to thank all our partners and volunteers who have supported us during the last 18 years. We will be hosting a small farewell event at the Lodge on Tuesday 13th December in order to say goodbye and remember some of our successes. Please let us know if you would like an invitation.
